Self Portrait Project

This is a portrait I created of myself. I used graphite pencils and a range of values to create a 3D style drawing. Contrast and value are very important principles to use when drawing faces. They make the peice look realistic and life like. This project helped me practice proportions and observations in art. Through practice and activities prior to actually drawing this peice helped me to use more values then I typically do when drawing people. I think this project improved my ability to draw faces realistically.
